Hi,

Your homepage must be named index.html (case-sensitive), or the server will display a list of files instead.

Thank you,

Hi,

In Dreamweaver, you would just need to rename the file for the webpage you want your visitors to see first to index.html. ;)

Thank you,

After I change the file name do I have to re-sync everything in order for it to work?

So my homepage is working! Thanks for that! However, my links are all broken. How do I fix this? Why are they not attached to my index? Sorry about my baby questions

Hi leskarof,

Great to hear your homepage is working. :) It looks like your links are pointing to places such as "file:///D:/photography%20link.html", which is a full path to the file on your computer's hard drive. Instead, please change these links to relative links, meaning they simply point to "photography%20link.html". That way, your web browser will look in the same folder as the current file for your webpage, so this shouldn't be a problem. ;)

Thank you,

To apply this change, do I have to resync everything via Dreamweaver? or can I just refresh it?

Hi,

I'm not too familiar with how Dreamweaver works, but you would need to re-upload all the HTML files with the change, if that makes sense.

Thank you,

To make it clear: doing hyperlinks like 'thisisapage.html' and 'this/is/a/folder/to/a/file.html' should keep things working both locally and publicly.
Same applies when it comes to pointing towards external elements such as images.
