Company AYBIEM (IBM) released the first in the world's most powerful computer in the world.

A powerful computer calculates the monster Roadrunner to 1000,000,000,000 operations per second - said the corporation's press service.

Records was built for the Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration (Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration) in Los Alamos, where he planned to help maintain control over all nuclear facilities in the U.S..

Preliminary tests have been very successful: Peak velocity of data processing, according to the company, amounted to "about 1.5 petaflops. Apparently, we are talking about the total maximum power of 3456 original server tri-blade, each of which can perform 400 billion operations per second (400 gigaflops).

The structure of Roadrunner has nearly 20,000 high-performance dual-core processor - 6948 AMD Opteron and 12,960 Cell Broadband Engine production of most IBM. System memory is 80 terabytes.

This farm is located on an area of about 560 square meters and is packaged in the already mentioned servers the original architecture. The total weight of the equipment is about 23 tons - for its transportation to the customer will need 21 large-sized truck.

Another distinguishing feature of the new computer - economy. Power consumption is 3.9 megawatts, or 376 million operations per watt, which, according to the developer, is the best result among all computing devices.
