Since the migration when l login to my web application I get this error:

"The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later"

The error.log is empty.

I'm unable to reproduce the issue. Is this using a database to authenticate? If so please PM me this thread along with credentials to reproduce the problem.

yes, credentials are stored in the database.

Here a test account:

username: test@francescaebrenno.ch

pw: test1234

Is this error generated by nginx?

It works fine on a bad username/password combination. I do not get the server error message. I get the page with Authorization Failed.

So the problem happens when the Authorization succeeds.

Exactly what does the script do on a good combination? Redirect?

Exactly how does it redirect? Does it send a page with a redirect META tag or does it send a 3XX HTTP status response?

The response I get is coded 502 - Bad Gateway, which is defined as:

The server, while acting as a gateway or proxy, received an invalid response 
from the upstream server it accessed in attempting to fulfill the request.

So however the redirect is being done, the nginx server doesn't like it. Hard to say without seeing the relevant code.
