Does anyone like any of the sims games? And if you do, why? And if you play a certain one, which one? Do you like the Sims?

I am just wanting some input about the Sims.

I do. Quite a few of them.

Sims 2 : Life Stories
Sims 2: Double Deluxe
Sims 2: University

These are just for the PC. I have a few as well for Gamecube, Nintendo DS and PS2.

I am thinking of getting Sims 2: Apartment Life for the PC as well.

Why do I play / have them? I prefer games like these over ones that you just run around shooting people / things.

I have a few other Simulation type games ( The Movies, Casino Empire, etc )

Yeah, I'm a fan of the Sims. I've played,

Sim City 3000
Sim City 4
Sim City 4: Rush Hour
The Sims + All Expansions
The Sims 2 + All Expansions except Bon Voyage

And I am eagerly awaiting Sims 3. Squee.

Sims 2 all expansions no stuff-packs 10gb custom content maybe half of it "genetics" and bodyshop (clothing, hair, replacement eyes/body meshes, etc).

Sims 1 all expansions no custom content.

Sims 3 none yet no pre-orders either; I'm holding back until they get some expansions on it, because Sims 2 was like starting at Sims 1 no-expansions - no downtown, no vacation, no pets, no extras.

Sims 2 now is like magic, apartments, player-ran stores, vacations, SNOW/RAIN/HAIL, awesome custom content that's more than just recolors, hobbies, DIY robots...

Sims 3 is likely gunna be no pets again. It's the pets that irritates me. I mean seriously, I know the cats and dogs are annoying cause they chew up the furnature.

But they're just...Well frankly they feel like they should be there to start with, not some afterthought or expansion worth $40 brand new. It's a sim with no player control and more finicky motives.

I won't say extra pet objects at all because the ones in sims 2 just need a food bowl and litterbox; they sleep on the furny anyways unless you wake them up and scold them for it.

But don't get me wrong. I'm gunna melt like butter when sims 3 is out and I'll probably break down and buy it anyways. And its expansions. And another harddrive just for the custom content. And I think I need to lie down, my wallet can't take this much thought about impulse buying :)

Oh, and xfire says I've done 36 hours in Apartment Life. That's fine, did 50 in DOW:Dark Crusade but I don't think I've had AL nearly as long...Seems xfire might be showing off my addiction soon.

It's down to Apartment Life and Spore. And Apartment Life's the one that's installed :)

I've played Sim City 3000. I noticed on that game that there is a small memory leak, where if you set the time on it to go as fast as it can, the memory usage would keep going up until the game crashed or Windows forced it to close. Otherwise, one thing I loved about that game was turning on every single disaster and watching the fireworks
