The site works but can't connect to database!!!

Ok now the site works but it can't connect to the database. I am using Joomla and phpBB. I've changed to localhost in the configuration files.

Have you created the database's for the cms's?

Databases are created long time before this server move and the site was working fine. As far as I know now I should only change to localhost because everything else is untoched and it was working.
Now I've changed to localhost but I can't connect to the database???

Have you checked wether your database(s) still exists or not, after the server changes were applied?

If they do not, your problem should be resolved by the 30th of January - at this time all the finalisations of the maintenance should be completed. Otherwise feel free to create a new thread regarding this issue of the "Server Move Issues" sub-forum in the News and Announcements section of these forums.

Everything is there. The database is ok, the tables are ok it seams everything is like before just can't connect to database. :dunno:

I had the same problem with Joomla! I've transfered from my local server. Try this:

1. Do as admin said (i.e. use localhost as a host)
2. Make sure you have the right database name. It should be like yourCPusername_youDBname
3. DO NOT use the user you have created when you've created the database. It should be yourCPusername_youDBusername. Instead USE the CP username.
4. Make sure you get your password right
