To all the techies enthusiasts out there ...
Our school (Mpelembe Secondary School Kitwe Zambia) runs a partnership with Basic Schools (Grades 1 to 9) in the area and we are looking for a Thin Client solution that has been proved to work with Ubuntu.
Any ideas?
Best to all

Linux Mint is a well-known ubuntu-based distro... and it is more lightweight than ubuntu itself.

Crunchbang Linux is also compatible, a it is even more lightweight than ubuntu.

Try this link:

http://www.displaylink.com/zero_client/userful.php

The hardware is a DisplayLink based thin-client (they call it a zero client). You have a small box which connects a keyboard, mouse and monitor to a host PC, generally through a single USB cable. You can have as many of these boxes as you have USB ports. All files for all user accounts is stored on the host PC. Nothing is on the client, which makes backup and security easier. Might be a cost-effective solution.
