You've heard of a URL shortener... here's a site with a URL shortener and longerer ;)

It can be a helpful site as well as a site to poke fun at others. But I wanted to get some feedback on it :)

I don't see what possible use there is for making a URL longer; URL shortening has only come about as a result of character limits on Twitter. Other than that, there isn't a lot of site to review, the design serves the purpose well and is easy to use. What you could consider moving onto next is what other URL services offer, such as link usage statistics and URLs that are linked to accounts etc.

Yes, that's been thought over.

I'm still not sure if I should invest my time in this, but if I do, that will be next on the to-do list.

Thanks,

The design itself is very good and clear, but there is already a lot of competition with URL shortening from people like tinyURL and bit.ly.

Very simple and easy to use. Great job.

I recommend loading jQuery from urlfa.ce.ms instead of code.scamron.co.cc to avoid additional DNS lookups, which slightly slow down the page. Or you can load it from Google (http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js) which is probably cached already because its used so much. This can help speed up your page by a bit.

As stpvoice said, there is quite a lot of competition, so you should consider developing some additional features including stat tracking.
