Hello stuff,

I'd like to ask you. I'd like having some nice free website here. Your webhosting seems to be nice one. I have read your ToS a while ago and I don't understand one statement there

Code:
Each individual is allowed ONE account only.

I'd like to know what "each individual" means? Would you like to explain me that please a bit? By each individual you mean IP or MAC or COMP or HOUSE or PERSON or LAND or DESK?

We are here 2 brothers + 2 sisters. We got only one comps (yeah know poor family). They estabilished me as their webmaster. They each want to have their's personal website - photos from parties, bit of homeworks and stuff like that. We got also one gateway IP by our ISP.

I'd like to follow your rules correctly. Any advice for me? Thanks in advance.

It is individual, I'm not sure if it is checked by ip. However if 2 people are using it i do not see why you cant have separate accounts. However, i suggest you do not make separate account as every account has a main domain, and a add-on domain. You can place around 4 websites(I'm not sure,) in ad-don domains and 1 in the main domain section. You can also make sub domains so 1Sibling.myfamily.co.cc and 2Sibling.myfamily.co.cc (Just Fake Domain Names). That i believe would make it easier on you and help you to create a directory with all files your family needs.

Hope This Helps
Matt,

Hi Matt,

thanks for the replay and the suggestion.

Still I don't know what they means by individual, but they talk about an account not a subdomain/domain. So I suppose that by the account they mean domain/forum account.

Unfortunately there's a problem for me. I can not afford shared domain for all of them. Sisters would like having separate domains than brothers have. I mean something unique for girls. Also there shouldn't be any common subdomain for them.

I mean it would not be good for me to have something like this :

Code:
sister1.sisters.myfamily.co.cc and brother1.brothers.myfamily.co.cc

I just need separate domain for each of them cos of security reasons. Why should brothers see sister's party e.g? Also it wouldn't be good to know that sister1 is dating sister2's boyfriend a bit. I could separate subdomains by login but there's a request still having unique domain for each of them.

one individual is one physical person.

Each one would be managing their own account

You can get co.cc domains and make 2 accounts or 4 accounts for each of your family members.

That would enable each of your siblings to have their own webpage siblingname1.co.cc and brother1.co.cc -> however that would use up your cpanel domains. As of sub domains, each sub domain has its own directory. So even though brother1.myfamily.co.cc would be a sub domain the same as sister1.myfamily.co.cc they would have different directories. therefore they can have different templates, and a password login for their specific website (something.myfamily.co.cc). Its hard to explain but you would still be able to keep the privacy of a seperate domain with subdomains.

For example

Sister1.myfamily.co.cc created website with directory as a subdomain of myfamily.co.cc. when creating that subdomain it asked for directory name so you named it sister1.myfamily.co.cc. You then implant a php or html webpage with a login to see and edit the content (suggest using wordpress for this - makes it easier and has accounts built in). Therefore sister goes to her wordpress websites and writes her english essay in a new post. Her teacher wants to see it so your sister gives the password she set to see the content - password and the domain name. It will prompt the teacher or her friends whenever they want to see it. There also can be a feature on wordpress where you have to be a member to see content, and therefore your sister can decide who signs up and who doesnt. So if another sister wanted to see her stuff, she would need the password to see it. Im going to look for a addon for wordpress to make the password prompt but you could easily implant it in the coding. The members thing is already in.

However if you want it where there are no scripts (wordpress, joomla) running your website, then you would each have to have a seperate hosting account so each other would not be able to see each others content and each their own domain name

Sorry if there are any misunderstandings
Matt,

Hi Anna,

may I ask you? May I be a webmaster for them then? I mean register the domains for them and prepare some pages for them? They are not so "geeky" yet. They will show me what to put there etc and I will do it for them later.

Code:
Each individual is allowed ONE account only.

I would like really to follow this ToS statement not to cause you any trouble. But I'm still thinking about how to make the accounts for my dear siblings. I'm worried that you have available some "remote" check algorithm for the individual. I wouldn't like to go into jail when I registered for them.

Well, what I wanted to say? The ToS statement Each individual is allowed ONE account only. is so silly. It's hard to follow and you know it. So when write about it? If you worry about some server resources or wanna check some abussive behaving, there are better tech/real solutions for this one than some silly statement. Sure I don't need to ask you about how many accounts is allowed per person - many, many and I don't even have to ask you about it...

I understand the stuff with pr0n, warez, b0ts etc. You are offering great webhosting and I like the local community and quick responses but some statements make me smile a bit.

Why I wrote all of this? Because I just need few accounts which doesn't mean there will be any abbusive behaving. That's it. The family example could be quite real.
