trying to change domain

I hope you can help. I registered with subdomain cwa3607.x10hosting.com to test the host and I am very happy with what I see and now want to migrate our cwa3607.org domain to this host. We are currently with another host IX which I have a redirect going to this subdomain. I have already changed the domain here but it is not working yet. How do I forward the nameserver to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com? I have read on the forums that it must be done first.

You will need to go to the domain registrar where you bought the domain. Change the name servers to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com . Then you can either change the domain name in the account management panel or add it to "addon domains" or "parked domains".

I would suggest Parking the domain. That way you can still access your site on x10hosting until your domain name has propagated to x10 and is working. Then you can make changes in the account management panel. The reason i say this is that some domain name registrars can take up to 72 hours to get the name servers pointed to x10.

Ok thanks I changed the domain back and parked it for now.

Can you tell me how to find out this information. The domain was purchased through the organization and not by me directly. Do you know of any domain lookup tool or something that would help me figure that out?

Found it...if anyone else needs to know. You can do a lookup at http://www.icann.org/registrars/accredited-list.html
