Hi sorry to bother you. I think I have successfully opened a new account, but now I am trying to upload .html pages. Is there a web front end to do this or do I have to use a ftp client ? If it is a ftp client, do you know where in can get an ftp password . Many thanks.

you can upload by using the file manager in directadmin.
you can also use a ftp client like 'filezilla' or something more extreme like 'dreamweaver cs' if you choose to.
you can usually connect to ftp using something like this:
FTP - ftp.mysite.com (ftp your website name)
ftp uses port 21
some clients have a passive ftp option you can select.
password is same as your main login password when you sign in to https://x10hosting.com/login

the direct login is not suggested because it does not count towards your required 30 day login requirement.@alphorn7

the large green button is the correct one, if nothing happens its because your not allowing new tabs/windows.
you must allow your browser to open new tab or windows for it to work.
it does not open in the same window.
Is there any way I can type in a direct url to that control panel ? What would be the syntax for my account ? Thanks

im not sure about the firefox and iOS iPad,
im on a pc with windows 7 and dreamweaver (like filezilla)
but here is what works for me.
host/server - x15.x10hosting (note the x15 and change it to yours.)
connect using FTP - ftp.your-website name
ftp port - 21
try to sign in with your directadmin sign in.
if it dont work try using your forum sign information..

Much thanks for this. I think I could manage with windows filezilla or dream weaver but do not have access to either at the moment.
can anyone give me an example of the syntax for web ? I will have another go with Firefox ios ipad

web ftp may not work currently on the device. You should be able to download an FTP application for your device and use the previously mentioned settings by our member.

after you log in https://x10hosting.com/login
the big green button will open the DitrctAdmin control panel,
just look for the >> system info and files >> files /folders.
then scroll down to the public_html folder shortcut.
that will take you to the default folder to upload files.

Ok trying an ftp client for iOS. Ftp sprite was impossible to setup because it would not let you type in the boxes.
Regarding x15.x10hosting
How do I know which one is mine ?
When I press connect on the ftp client setup it just says no , which means I have no idea which bit is wrong - the ftp server address , the username or the password

username: just the 8 letters of the service name. ( " ******** " @ x13)
password: the one you use to login to the hosting control panel
server: leave empty
FTP button should be selected.

Ok I tied the direct login url figuring it would be simpler.
i tried bothe logons
the one you logon to x10with
and the one you logon to the forum with
i can only find one password in my notes so I assume it is the same password for each
i tried several times in case of typo but no joy
i will try the ftp client lite app tomorrow
but I suspect ii have a logon problem
