I have spent countless hours working on the design of my site. Last night, the very last thing i did was sit back and admire my novice work.

This morning, everything in my store reverted back to its original settings! There have been 3 times so far that several files in a folder just disappeared!!

Luckily, I save my work, and it's not a problem getting my information back up. The problem is:
Why is this happening?
Will it continue to happen?
How can I prevent it from happening?

So far I have been thrilled with x10hosting, and intend to upgrade to a premium account as soon as funds are available for this project. Unfortunately, this is a major draw-back, and I'm concerned that this will continue to happen.

Some information please? Is it something that I'M doing wrong? I have gone to great lengths making sure that my site abides by the x10hosting tos.

Thanks for any info.

They are migrating several servers, including the one you are on, to a new setup.
Several people have reported similar problems.
Seems like updates are being done to one server while the web displays the other.
My suggestion would be to put off any changes until it clears up, which should be soon.

Well, that's good to know, thank you.
So when it's finished, it will revert back to the way I had it?
How often does this happen?
And it's strange that it resorted back to the original store script, when much of that information was no longer stored in my account... maybe I'm just crazy, but how is that possible?

Anyway, thanks for the info. Very helpful.

This kind of transfer does not happen very often, and we do not anticipate it happening again any time soon once it is over. We have settled on how we arrange our free hosting servers and are moving older systems over to the new way, so to speak.

What appears to have happened is that your account was transferred to the new server, and you had your domain's DNS cached. As you continued to use your account, the cached DNS record for your domain pointed to the old server. A while later the cached DNS expired and got updated to the newer DNS record, pointing to your account on the new server (instead of the place where you made all of the changes).

I hope that clears up any confusion with what happened.
