I just established a FTP account in the control panel. I took the connection information and inserted it into my dreamweaver remote server dialogs and was able to connect to the server. However, when I try to direct to the Public_html folder I get this error message "cannot open server folder home/nowx10mx/public_html/. Access denied. The file may not exist or there could be a permission problem". I get the same message using Filezilla as well. Can anyone please tell me what is wrong?

From your post --> "...or there could be a permission problem"

do you have permission for folder [ public_html ] set to [ 750 ] ?

Try dropping the /home prefix of the path.

I have the Public_html folder permissions set to 755 and I've tried several directory structures and the only one that works is "/" . Anything after that fails.

I assume you 'added' a FTP account - if you did that account has its own folder and is no [ public_html ] inside of it

As a test with FileZilla - try this...

Host: your account's primary (main) domain
Port: 21
User: your cPanel user name
Password: your cPanel password

and see it you can get to folder [ public_html ]
