Hi
Ive had this problem on my domain for a while (montpelier.x10.mx) but just ignored it
hiwever i need to change the ip address of my a record as ive got a new isp
if i try to change the simple dns setting i get a cannot find SOA record and in advanced it says cannot fetch record for domainname

ive seen a few posts have said reset the dns record in the advanced option however I've tried that and it still has the error.

Any help/suggestions would be great

Thanks

Adam

You do not change the IP of a x10 domain.

I understood what you meant.

Any x10 domain is hosted on x10 servers, not on your personal server.

If you want to host something on your personal server, you have to supply your own domain.

Ok sorry I'm obviously being very thick but I'm not sure what I had done then because before the new internet was put in if I typed remote.montpelier.x10.mx from anywhere in the world then it would go to my sbs 2011 server in my office.

Now that the new internet is in the remote address doesn't go to my server. I thought it was because my a record pointed to my old public IP address and all I needed to do was change it to the new public IP of my office. However if this is not the case then do you know how I can get it to work again.

Sorry for being thick I just seem to have completely misunderstood how I was connecting to my server and now I can't seem to work out how to reconnect it again.

Thanks for you help so far.

EDIT:

I did an nslookup on my machine at home for remote.montpelier.x10.mx and it responded with my old public ip address in the office so all i really want to do is change that so it points to my new public ip in the office.

I dont use the website for anything else other than a few tests with different software, (jommla etc.) Our main website is hosted elsewhere, so if needed i'd be happy todo a "factory reset" so to speak so i can start again.

Is this something i could do?

Thanks

Hi
Sorry for the double post but still having the issue
It seems like my best bet is to remove my account completely then resign up. I've found the option for it in account settings however it says there's a 3 day pending period.
Is there any way that my account can be deleted without the pending period so i can get back up and running quicker.

Many Thanks and sorry for the trouble.

I have sorted out the issue for your domain, you should now be able to add the custom entry that you want.

Please note though that I had to reset the domain to its default stage, which means all custom entries you might have had would have been removed.

That is great thank you.

Was able to re-add the record and no errors.

Many Thanks
