unable to send mail

i am not able to send mail by php mailer. its giving error about fsockopen() failed. is it disabled on my account. but before it was working about 20 days ago. ive not changed the code. please its my college project so reply as soon as possible Thankyou

PHP mail() has been enabled. I can verify that it is working on lotus.
