Recently I registered a domain name (cryabout.it) with 101domain.com to use with my x10hosting account. When I try to add it as a domain, I get this message:
2i93S.png

I went back to my 101domain.com control panel to refresh the nameserver URLs x10hosting has given out, only to get this message:

2i93g.png

Would this be a problem with x10's nameservers, or is 101domain having the problem?

I would talk to 101domain

BTW, .it domains are restricted to individuals who are EU citizens/residents. Kind of leaves Texas out of the picture.

When I bought it, I also paid for a .it trustee service where a 101domain employee who's a EU citizen registers it, so this isn't really relevant.

I will contact 101domain and see if it's a problem on their end, and will report back here.

Edit: I might have left off a piece of info in my original screenshot of 101domain:

I reset the DNS servers to see if I could change it to x10's again, and 101domain is saying that:
Most registries require that your domain be configured on the name server before your domain may be changed to use these name servers. Please contact the administrator of your name servers and ask them to create your zone record.
I'm assuming that I need to create the addon domain on x10 first before I can change the DNS servers on 101domain, but x10 says I can't create the addon domain because the DNS servers aren't pointed. Is there a way to get around this on x10's end?

It is the other-way around - you need to set DNS at [ 101domain ] before you can set-up a add-on-domain at x10hosting

After the DNS is set AND made it through the propagation delay - you can set-up a add-on-domain at x10hosting

Wrong.

Is correct. (not sure about the "most" part though). People have had this problem before with foreign domains.

@flexpuke : try going on IRC and see if you can get someone with the ability to do it for you. Make sure you explain that it is a foreign domain registry that has the above "you set up your nameserver zone record first" rule.

When are people on the IRC? Everyone's been idle today, it seems.

Okay, so the NS's were set on 101domain:

But when I try to add the domain here on x10, I'm still getting errors:
2lnJr.png

I honestly have no idea what's going on at this point.

101domain.com support sent me this:
2mmUZ.png

I assume they try to override the zone check for x10's nameservers, but it STILL failed. I'm sure at this point that the problem is on x10's end. Are any techs able to set this zone record stuff up for me? I just want to get this domain set up already.

This is a catch-22 situation. We require as most hosts do that you have the name servers set to ours before allowing you add the domain to the account. This ensures that you actually own the domain and prevents some types of fraud from occurring, for example you wouldn't be able to add Google.com to your account with us because you don't have access to change the name servers on that domain. Because you can't add the domain with us, you can't change the name servers, because you can't change the name servers you can't add the domain with us...

Anyways, I've added the DNS zone for you. You should be able to change the name servers now. You can try to add the domain after the name servers are fixed, do note it may take a few hours for DNS propagation after you update the name servers for our server to see they've been changed. Also, we may have to remove the DNS zone I created prior to you adding your domain, if that is the case PM me once you update the name servers at your registrar and I'll remove the zone I created.
