Hiyo,

I'm trying to make edits to my WordPress site but am unable to do so - any changes saved do not stick. Thinking the problem may be that WP and its plugins are outdated (several years old), I tried to update WP and its plugins, but when I try to do so I either get the error "Update Failed: Could not create directory" or "Download failed, the checksum of the file (…) does not match the expected checksum value." Various sources I've read indicate this could be a memory/disk space issue, or a permissions issue.

The site has not been updated in about 5 years - is there any way the site can be configured so I can continue to make updates?

Thanks.

the fact you have not updated it in years may be a sign that you need to install a newer version.
there is very little support here for wordpress as it is not owned by x10hosting.

someone else in the forum might have other suggestions, but it might take a long time for a reply.
you may be able to get help from the WordPress websites support forums.
