Upgrade Issues

Hi, last week, on the 27th I upgraded to the Illuminated hosting plan, and since then, my website has been mostly dysfunctional. I don't know if it has anything to do with upgrading the hosting plan around the same time that Boru was being upgraded, but I seem to be running a very old version of PHP (5.2.17), which seems to be missing even elementary functions like lcfirst(). Also, I still have functions like exec() disabled, which if I am correct, shouldn't be disabled on the Illuminated plan. I guess part of my question is, have I been completely transferred to this new hosting option? I never received an e-mail saying so, but I expected the transition to be complete within '12 hours' as I was notified after paying.

Yes, you are fully transferred. I will look into the PHP configuration and version issues.

Should be resolved now.

Hey Skizzers, thanks for the update. Immediately after I saw your post, I checked my site and cPanel and PHP seemed to be fixed, but right now it seems to have reverted back to 5.2.17. Do you think you can look into this? Also, I noticed a discrepancy between what cPanel allows me and what is listed on the wiki as Illuminated features, my findings are below:

3 email accounts instead of 6
2 subdomains instead of 4
1 parked domain instead of 2
2 addon domains instead of 4
3 FTP Accounts instead of 6

I opened a support ticket for this, but they seem to be slower to respond, and the last support ticket I opened, which was about the PHP issue before I decided to post here, was closed without resolution. I'm hoping this can be fixed promptly, and if there are any other things missing in my account that I missed, that they could be reinstated as well.

Thanks

Yes, there are a few reasons I was not aware of that we were running 5.2 instead of 5.3, so we needed to revert back. We are currently investigating ways to allow users to select which version of PHP they wish to use on their sites, so that people who need 5.2 can run 5.2 and people who need 5.3 can run 5.3. Unfortunately, this will likely take a few days to a couple of weeks to fully test and deploy, so in the meantime I might suggest that you either run an older version of your script, or add a compatibility layer of sorts (to use your example, you could implement the lcfirst() function yourself). As for the support tickets, that is the preferred method of support, as any support threads posted in Feedback and Suggestions are usually deleted without warning. I left this one open because it was actually valid feedback, but if you turn the thread into a support request I will lock it without prior warning.

Our support system is staffed by volunteers, and there are only a handful of people that have access to the illuminated server and handle illuminated tickets (me being one of them, and I was on hiatus the past week or two), which is likely why your responses are delayed. We strive to answer all tickets within 2-3 days, however sometimes this goal is not met. I will reply to your other issues in the support ticket system.
