Upload progress monitor

Do any body know how to build a PHP script that can monitor the uploading file status?

As I saw most of the file hosting web site is using either javaScript or Flash to to this.

Any body know how to do it?

i don't think you can but depending on the FTP program you use they ussually have a status bar.
