Hello,

I have opened a hosting account with x10hosting, located at sosdancn.exofire.net and have uploaded (using my FTP client) an index.html file into the public_html folder.

However, upon loading this site up, I am directed to a cPanel success page.
Trying this index.html file on a friend's hosting succeeds in loading the correct page, so there must be something wrong with my account.

In addition, attempts to use the Site Builder result in an error message to the effect of "domain sosdancn.exofire.net doesn't point to account xichar".

Sincerely,
Xi Char

No problem. Hellsheep is currently investigating and the issue should be resolved shortly.
Edit:
Starka is running a maintenance program right now that is affecting free accounts. Hellsheep has verified this is the only problem with the server.

It appears your account doesn't have an index.html file located in public_html. Can you try uploading it again?

We're looking in to it further. There may be a problem with your site's configuration on the server.
