Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@ampdt.exofire.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Still Not Fixed.....
?????????

Free or not, 100% uptime... and if you look at my posts or anyone elses in last few weeks... uptime hasnt been that 100%

Not a criticism, its a fact... So where do we go from here....

Can you let us know what are the problems, i am not 100% techinically minded, but try me.....?

Thanx for persistance and creativity...

Is that while you're trying to load a php page? If so, have you upgraded your php from basic to intermediate?

Ampdt -- Uptime on your server has been 100% . You have to consider we have multiple servers. When one is having issues that does not effect the others.

A 500 error is caused by permissions and is not 'downtime'. Check your permissions.

Where would I find my permissions Corey.... Cpanel or ?

As in 3 days since I went backend on my site, I haven’t touched any permissions, uploading was fine back then as it should now ....

So where do you suggest I look?

it was this error: ..."Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. "

PS. I do consider you have multiple servers. and i understand fully that recently there has been changes to your servers. and this in somewhat affected some peoples sites/cpanels/etc.

I am also aware that you guys at x10 work hard
A) to keep it going,
B) treat us all fairly.
C) I shall next time get my thanksgiving book out and politely just sit in a corner with my problems... Or maybe use techie terms like, My page isn’t working, my sites offline why the heck cant i access it.... or why can i not upload my stuff via joomla installer as previously i could.

I appreciate all you guys do... you don’t have to host us free, and I understand that, I am complete newbie to all this, but I am not a newbie in politeness either.

So before posting I do look at all possibilities before coming on this forum and bugging the hell out of everyone...

Forward as this/I may seem, I only learn from what you guys help me with... because if I knew the reasons, I wouldn’t bother you guys...

Beef & Bouquet over...

ampdt...

PSS. Oh yeah Please don’t suspend me for my view :-D

a 404 error means that there is not a file which you requested and there fore is NOT a downtime error. It is a error on your part. Our server have been up for a while now, after the migration. Grant it, there have been heavy loads, *up in the 13's and higher*

Blazer, you are not on the same server as ampdt.

Apmdt -- It was working previously because when we first set this server up we did not lock down or secure PHP. We did this so we could alleviate load issues from the other server as fast as possible. After things settled down we did go back and secure the server along with lock down PHP.

500 Errors or Internal errors are almost always caused by permission problems. Executable PHP files should be set to 755 or lower(Not 777). Folders that are being uploaded to that do not have PHP files in them should be set to 777. Other folders with PHP files in them should be set to 755 or lower. You can set these permissions via an FTP program or through the file manager in control panel.

I believe you also have access to the error_log in cPanel which should give you some more detailed information as to why it's giving the 500 error.
