Hi --
A nice thing about x10 is that so many people here are from all around the planet. In the US we're currently holding our primaries (that's where the two big parties choose their candidates for the next presidential election). I was wondering if anyone outside the US was paying any attention, and had any opinions about the various candidates.

Thanks!

Al

Well, after observing my countrymen, I can tell you for sure that many people inside America's borders aren't paying attention. Hopefully the international community follows our elections a little more closely than we do. Even if they can't vote in them, it would be good to know that America is doing its little song and dance for someone.

I follow a bit of it and know some contenders though not sure whether they represent the Republicans or the Democrats. Some of the names I've read in the papers are that of Barrack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Mccain. I read of a victory for Obama and then a fightback by Clinton in New Hampshire. And also victories for Mccain. Correct me if I am wrong.

I'm a Canadian, and I support Ron Paul. I am paying pretty close attention to the American primaries.

Quite far off from US in Middle East however I do follow these as this is a good concept of selecting party candidates quite different from the Developing countries where party candidates are nominated or selected based on Chrismatic character or very small group of people in the party.

I personally find it amusing that the 2008 presidential race actually kicked off before the beginning of the 2007 election campaign here in Australia.

I'm really interested in modern American history and politics so I've been following the primaries, but man. Your electoral system insane.
