Hi!

I'm a newbie to web development and I wanted to learn myself how to start a forum where my friends can discuss about Literature and Movies. So with the generous hospitality of you x10hosting.com I have tediously managed to install phpBB 3.01 and start a forum for initial testing purposes.

Currently, my forum can be accessed at

http://www.cyberscroll.x10hosting.com/phpbb3/index.php

But, I recently purchased the domain name cyberscroll.net from Godaddy.com and I want to make people who access http://www.cyberscroll.net or http://cyberscroll.net to directly open the above
http://www.cyberscroll.x10hosting.com/phpbb3/index.php page.

In order to achieve that what modifications should I make within x10hosting and with my domain name provider Godaddy?

Thanks for your support in advance and long live x10hosting.com!

In order to do that, you would need to host the domain on x10. And then use a redirect from the domain to direct it towards the subdomain you've given. To host the account on x10, you will need to change the DNS nameservers to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com at your domain registrar. And then in the Addon Domains add the domain cyberscroll.net and again from the cPanel use a redirect.

Managed to get the name servers updated with the registrar and I would be glad if you can enlighten this poor soul on what I should enter for the Addon domains page..

New Domain Name:

Subdomain/Ftp Username:

Document Root:
homeb.gif

Thanx Again!

In the domain name, just enter cyberscroll.net. The rest of the information will be automatically filled, once you fill in the domain name. If you want to change it, you can. But it is better if you left it alone. And then you enter the password, reconfirm it and you are all set.
