Using Imagemagick?

How do you use Imagemagick with php? I have heard that it is installed on the servers but I can't figure out how to use it. Can't run system() commands...

I think you would have to look up a tutorial for that. Imagemagick is installed on all servers

I think he was referring to the fact he can't use it due to not being able to run system() as it's enabled in PHP v3 only.

Can you use GD for this?

I have heard that applications like MediaWiki and Coppermine use ImageMagick. How do they do it? Is it possible to install MagickWand which is a

module [that] enables PHP access to the ImageMagick MagickWand API.

I need to use ImageMagick's montage command, so I guess MagickWand could do that.

I know at least MediaWiki you can disable ImageMagick so it falls back to using GD, not sure about Coppermine though.

I see you or someone else created a vote thread which is the way to get your extension excepted into x10.
