Visitor log issues?

How come on the C Panel it says it can access the last 300 visitors to my site, but then it only shows for one day?

I want to keep logs of who keeps visiting my site because I want to see what TV stations are looking at my site(I am a meteorologist looking for a job).

it might be that, lets say it means that it can give access to the last 300 visitors for that day.
some people may have 4 or 500 visitors but if you only get 20 visitors then it cant show 300 because there wasnt 300 in that day.
i hope you understand this because i have just read it back to myself and im lost lol

anyway hope you understand it.

You can download a full log in Cpanel and use a peice of software to give you details about who been on your website.

Yeah, that makes sense. There is not much traffic to my site. I only get about 25 hits/day. Mostly from people I know. I did download the full log and it was all the same IPs that I noticed on other days, including the Yahoo Slurp and Google Bot. :dunno:
