Who here also hates vista?
If I updated mine, it woud'nt find an internet connection.
I recently updated to the new messenger, that dont work now - doesnt connect. Yes I tried all those obvious diagnostics.

It seems you are newbie to vista. VIsta is fine nowadays. All softwares are being "vistaficated". The problem may depend on the vista version..What's yours? I recommend you to use "Vista Ultimate".
To start to use Vista you need
1) A good computer...
2) Patience (this for learning the vista - e.g. sometimes you will meet problem to findout where is network connection folder...)
3) Don't install other programs, not compatible with Vista.
----

BUT there is an acronym for vista,
V-Virus,
I-Intruders,
S-Spyware,
T- Trojan,
A- Annoyance

Hey,

I like Vista. It works just fine.

You probably did something wrong and as the majority of my customers

immediately blamed Vista/XP. You have to know what you are doing.

Maybe you disabled it. Messenger isn't working because you have no

internet connection.

Medphoenix - That is not true. If you are protected then you are fine.

For example, would you try gain access to 10000 People or

1000000000? I am thinking 1 Billion!

I told there is acronym, but I didn't tell that is true.

I think its home premium, and yes, internet does work. One of the updates stops vista from finding the internet, I cant even ping from cmd, but msn did work.
Now, messenger dont work - new update caused it. the older version worked fine.

There's been a lot of crap slung about Vista. Hopefully it's not true, because my new PC comes with Vista Premium. Are there any Service Packs out yet?

Yes i think they have released a sp1 for vista. but now sure of it.

And Adam01 you might be using a beta or some other early versions. The new versions are updated and runs fine i suppose.

dunno what the problem could be! It could be a number of things!!
Also, heard and read that Microsoft is lowering the price of Vista from 28-48% FOR BOXED VERSIONS!

Alright that's good so I won't be behind when I install my new PC :). What's the difference between Premium, Basic, Business, and Ultimate, by the way?

I don't exactly know. If you do get vista, get some type of dual core. Mine is an AMD somthing, and its really slow.

ahh to me vista looks awsome... but running wise.. it only conserves battery life on laptops and etc... for games i would suggest XP and for programming its Linux all the way =]

Which is why they will stop selling XP sometime this June. If you seriously want XP, get it but you'll miss out in a few years when it comes down to updates. Vista has worked without a problem with me ever since I got it 6 months ago on my gaming computer, and I couldn't be happier with it. And then there's Linux once XP stops selling if Vista isn't working out for you.
