Website 500 internal server error.

I was editing few files, well, only 2 files: .htaccess and .htaccess.backup.
After editing, i went to my site and I got this error (either coincidence or either cuz of the edit)

I had backup of both files. I deleted the edit and pasted backup back.

The error is still not gone and my whole site just stopped. Please help.

Please help as soon as possible. If needed, i will attach my .htaccess files.

I don't see any 500 error when I visit your site.

This was sorted over irc, was a misconfiguration in file perms.

Closing thread to mark as resolved.
