Hi All,

I am trying to set up "contact form" in the CMS made simple admin panel and it needs the following information,

Cmsms-contactform.png

Here is what I have set the above to ( although some needed info is newer )

Character set: UTF-8
Mailer Method: SMTP ( choice of smtp, sendmail or mail )
SMTP host name: *.x10hosting.com
Encryption: None ( Choice of none, SSL or TLS )
Port of SMTP server: 465
From address: Jake.M@invertimports.co.uk ( this works as I have my thunderbird configured for it and it receives test emails )
From username: I have used my website name for this
sendmail location: /usr/sbin/sendmail
SMTP timeout: 1000
SMTP authentication: on
Username: same username as my x10hosting login username
Password: same as my x10hosting login password

Now, can anyone help me as to whether there is something obvious missing / incorrect?

Regards

Jake

Far as I know x10hosting doesn't -have- an SMTP setup that works with a script such as that; what it's likely looking for is the kind of SMTP you can set up through google apps, which also has the benefit of getting you past the blacklists our hosting servers are on due to prior abusers.

Other than that there's always the mail function, but that would get blocked at hotmail for sure, along with a few others who have us blacklisted by IP. Shame too really, we were doing so good at trying to keep the servers clean, but apparently the abusers still got enough crap through to make them blacklist us virtually permanently.

I have created an email address from the control panel and am able to send and receive from that.

surely that uses a STMP server to send mail, which seems to be fine in thunderbird as I can send and receive from there, but unable to send from the online squirrel mail via the control panel;

Message not sent. Server replied:

Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
550 Verification failed for <jakem@invertimports.co.uk>
No Such User Here
Sender verify failed

It seems that squirrel mail is trying to use my Cpanel username in my email address which is incorrect as I have created it as, jake.m[at]invertimports.co.uk which is working in thunderbird.

Do you have any suggestions to what I should / could do?

Would a simple contact form script work or would I still have the same problem?
