Hi,

I have joined x10hosting today, I think its good so far but I have came across a problem, posting on here as it could possibly be a problem with my hosting provider.

My original website address shows as the following:

http://ajstudio.x10.mx/ajs/home
http://ajstudio.x10.mx/ajs/aboutus
http://ajstudio.x10.mx/ajs/contactus

My domain name is showing:
www.ajstudio.co.uk
..... regardless of what page I am on, it all stays the same.

I have been advised it is something to do with "Frames", well I'm fairly new to website designing and as far as I was aware, I wasn't working with frames? I don't even know what they are to be honest with you.

Please could someone help me with this? It may not be anything to do with Frames, but if it is, a little help would be grateful to sort the problem out.

Thank you very much.

1. ajstudio.co.uk is not hosted here. It is hosted somewhere else (UK/Isle of Man).

2. All ajstudio.co.uk provides is a "frame" that calls ajstudio.x10.mx for content.

3. A browser always shows the URL of the frame, not that of the contents of the frame. So, as you navigate around your site inside the frame, the address bar always shows just ajstudio.co.uk, never the subpage you are looking at.

4. If you want the browser to display the address like they do when you go directly to ajstudio.x10.mx, you have to transfer your domain here and "park" it.

5. x10's Wiki article: http://x10hosting.com/wiki/How_to_Use_Your_Own_Domain

6. Some things. NEVER use spaces in file or directory names. ALWAYS use all lower caps. EVERY page should have the TITLE set in the HEAD section. If you are using a program to generate the site either adjust the settings or get a program that does it correctly.

Thank you very much for the reply, very helpful.

So you can confirm, that the reason its doing this is because I have my domain name that is bought and currently under another company?

So I either:

A) Get an hosting account with the company I have my domain with.

B) Transfer my domain name to x10hosting, and my links will display each page differently?

I didn't know it would make any difference what website I got my domain from, so I just purchased it from the cheapest website?.

Thanks for the tips btw, I will take them into account .
