Can you cite your source for the RuneScape not applying their TOS to that version of the cache? It is their property after all and pretty much no private servers are allowed for the payware games like RuneScape, so even having a site used to discuss them would be in violation of the TOS.
A simple search on google kicked this back right off a site that lists runescape private servers:
The only catch to that is we don't wait for the official creator to contact us; we suspend for them immediately since we don't -want- Jagex contacting us with a DMCA Cease/Desist.
Edit: Also, we don't care about the ones on other servers; they're not on ours, and we're not Jagex, so it's not our job to go hunt them down when they're not on our services.
So, because my forums are based on that of a private server community, you're implying I MUST be a phishing website because it's required to have a username and password to login to my server?
Not only does it hash the passwords (for idiots, that means it's in numbers, not text) but me, being the owner of the server, do not believe that this is a liable procedure put on by your services.
Not only have I put up with your bullcrap lag for the past month, but now I am unable to grab my database and transfer it over? Really?
It's not your job, yet it's your job to find MY forums and take them down? So you're contributing to the problem of taking them down for being a 'phishing website' yet you're not contributing to taking others down?
The fact you believe Jagex will contact you made me lead to a conclusion of you never playing this game in your life. Jagex has ONLY EVER filed THREE TIMES to take down THREE of these. Many of them were well played by over 2,000 players (Frugooscape being one, the other BattleScape). BattleScape still stands to day with well over 1,000 people playing at a time.
Your welcome, I hope you have time enjoying me to pay back.
As for the citing of my source, I am looking for it now..
edit:
Really now? You're trying to imply because it is indeed a decompiled version of the Jagex client (Protocol 317 as stated above.)
Now I don't know if you know this or not, but it is indeed a version of it made FIVE YEARS AGO, therefore to be an infrigment to their contract it'd have to be build 625+.
