I didn't do anything bad and for some reason it wants to be installed again and I have no clue what the problem is. I was just building a forum and then it just sketsed out. This is kind of a burn.

---------- Post added at 12:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:23 PM ----------

So yeah I know I wasn't like really doing much on the site but it's kinda unexplained why it would want to reinstall. For some random reason. This is quite annoying lol

What did you do to it?
Is the information you gave me the other day via email still valid?

Your server is secure. Only you could have messed it up.
You are responsible for your own backups.
The only thing you could do is start again. I can't have a look as you didn't answer my question.

I swear i didn't do anything horrible I didn't try to go in and mess with files. All i was doing is making a foruma nd then bam no more site and lag city. So I really don't know and I am not down for all of that again. I personally don't get it and I am really frustrated. More than even I can't imagine
this is just quite lame.

---------- Post added at 12:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:45 PM ----------

Well you can't blame us for it.
I'd happily have a look to see what's happened. You need to send me some updated user information for your cPanel though, as what was in the email from the other day now appears to be invalid.

Just got your latest email.

Looks as though your server's lagging a bit at the moment. I'll have a look as soon as it's feeling better.

Hello,

This must have been a server issue, as I just refreshed your site, and it seems to be back working again. I didn't even touch it.

So stp it looks like you figured it out and it's wild you never went to school for this type of business. You really know quite a bit.

So was my forum too big or did I just make too many questions for the site? Did the server really not like me at all last night?( I woke up like 5 min. ago 733pm) Or was something going on, like what quite did you find that tells you what was going on in there?

I almost forgot how many times should I backup the server and does that back up everything cuz I'm kinda sure you'd need mysql db's since I'm quite sure they contain much of everything on the site. Well I'ma go play some WOW and relax.

Thanks stp I am a nub but hopefully you could become my mentor...

It looked like the issue was with your server itself, not with you. It seemed to break for everyone a few minutes after you reported the issue, and when it came back, everything was fine.

Well right on stpvoice,

Well I was looking at the hosting page for x10hosting and I almost clicked the button to do it (but I didn't... not quite yet) and I was wondering somethings about it?:

It asked for my email, domain, and password. But what would happen if I signed up with all that info? Would stuff get messed with? Could there be a clean transfer because I am all down with "4 Automated Daily Backups" because I am kind of weary. I don't really know how long servers hardware lasts or how backing up works but I'd rather have my site saved 4 times a day instead of none.

I was also wondering about the email accounts on cpanel. In Oxwall I changed the admin email to one on the cpanel(something cool like admin@gotabowl.com and the second support@gotabowl.com) but for some reason the email admin@gotabowl could send (I sent a test mail from squirrelmail to my gmail and it sent and got there really quick) but not receive a confirmation email from my site for some reason I don't know.

The other thing I have to wait a while since I moved and idk how much bills will be and $145 isn't that much for hosting so I should do it within the next week or so. But I am definitely stoked with this so far.

Are they still doing server fixing like repairing some servers?

Stpvoice I don't mean to be such a buster. The uh Oxwall is trying to install again. I was jsut about to go to bed in the morning and wanted to just check on it. I don't like how it does that.

Hello again,

Your server is due for an upgrade in the near future (in the coming weeks). Any sort of issues should be completely eliminated then, but I'd still assume the problem is the same as before. In fact, your site seems to be okay again now.

The remainder of your questions; I assume you're referring to upgrading to premium?
An account manager would usually handle the transfer of everything from free to premium for you. Everything should work as it did before, if not better.
The backups are automated as you say, and if there is an issue you just choose which backup you want to restore to. I think it would keep the most recent x# backups.
I'll have a look at the php mail issue. The free servers are very sensitive about how the sendmail scripts are set up. If you've changed that password again, kindly email me an update-same address.
I'd recommend using google apps free edition. I'll set this up for you aswell, if you so wish. If you want to do that, do it before the 10th of May, as they are cutting the allowed number of accounts on that date for free users.
Also, x10 premium is $3.95 per month. That works out at $47.40 per year, not the $145 as you suggested, unless you were speaking of a different package, or the 3 years collectively.

Any more questions; just ask. :)

Well that's cool that it's getting upgraded, the server I mean. Sorry I just woke up. I don't really care about the email accounts just this minute, I care more about streamlining the site and making it just a tad better every day. Oxwall is pretty chill though, I'm leaning something every day. I did the facebook add friends and the yahoo add friends and they are both pretty cool and took some time to figure out.

Yeah I was looking at the premium hosting for 3 years, seems like the right thing to do. Would my site load up quicker? An Account Manager that you were talking of earlier is semi-easy to use and it's not cpanel?

I could totally see how the free servers would be a bit picky. People say for the free servers the .htacess file is usually not allowed to be messed with, that's all I really know. .htacess file is bad and do not touch... lol.

Well StpVoice thanks for all your help dog. I will figure out like I said soon or close to soon about the bills here

Premium is faster and more reliable than free, as there are significantly less accounts on each server.
An account manager is a person. They manually transfer anything. You'll still have cPanel for automated management.

gotabowl.com is 404'd and it seems to happen the same time each night. But I'm not going to trip but I like what you said about them moving the data over and better speeds and whatnot. Hopefully I am getting paid tomorrow, cuz when I get paid you guys get paid. I didn't have enough so I'll go get some beers and chill back.

what does oxwall consist of? Just php and sql? I was just wondering because someone was asking well why don't you do this or this or this, and I had to tell them I know nothing about coding but I do know how to fill in forms. But some people have some really great ideas that are inovative and I don't see why they can't be done. People have just tried to copy others for so long that they don't know how to be true and original.

*edit well it came back up while I was typing this

How hard is oxwall on a server? it doesn't seem that big of a script but I somewhat understand that html is my computer and not the server. but php is handled mostly by the servers and thus more strain on server and not on peoples computers.

The settings in the admin for pics and whatnot is like the max pics for each user is at default: 500 and it says "make sure to keep this a high number". So I figure that this script can handle a decent amount of users. But what really is the max users that it could handle without getting a little wobbly?

On free, you'll probably find you'd begin getting issues at around 50 users. In my opinion, I'd say it's quite a heavy-looking script. It's php and MySQL.

Well yeah ok, wow 50 huh? what about on a premium account? But I was king of comparing to BoonEx and the other social networking sites. Live.fm or whatever it's called is using Oxwall as a social network thingy. So how many users should it take just based off of curiosity and a decent estimation when would premium start to get a little unstable or laggy?, do I go to VPS then when I can't do premium anymore? Do you have any idea if the facebook connect plug in is the newest updated one, or how do you check that cuz I should learn anyways?

I was reading a page on Oxwall forums and it said something about the servers settings and something byt the name of:

url_fopen disabled

can't be disabled it has to be enabled for facebook connect to not act so goofy.
