I think it is a little too dark, maybe add some more white. Where is the American Flag? And there is a happy face at the bottom of the page 
Did you personally take all those pictures? If not, you should provide the photographer citations. Same goes for the editorial text.
Overall it looks like a rectangular website, maybe add some color to the top and bottom menus -Keep up the good work.

It is a simple website and yeah it is well-arranged.
