I accidentally overwrote my index.php file last week. Site says that they automatically back up daily but I cannot find them.

Backups are not offered on x10hosting free, but they are on x10hosting premium. I'm not sure where you saw anything about backups, because there's nothing about them at https://x10hosting.com

Did you install something to back up your site for you?

Backup Frequency and Availability
We backup all free web hosting servers once per day. We retain recovery points for the most recent 30 days. You are able to browse and restore from any of the available days (recovery points).

Hm. I don't recall that being available on the free accounts. I was on an x10hosting break for a while, so I must have missed it.

Anyway, I'll flag an admin and see if the R1Soft user interface still is available.

if you notice that is for cPanel Basic theme and cPanel X3 theme.
(creating backups are also through cpanel)

I do not think that is available for DirectAdmin

spacresx is correct, daily backups are currently not available on DirectAdmin interface. I know they should return eventually in some form, but it a lot of the backend work has been delayed, to a large part due to the Covid-19 situation we are all in right now.

And as noted in ToS, backups are your responsibility:

ToS said:
System Backups
Backups are the sole responsibility of the customer. x10Hosting retains and offers backups to the customer but does not guarantee this service from failure. It is recommended all customers keep their own backups. Backups will not be provided to account holders who have been suspended for breaching the Terms outlined on this page.

Right now, the only backups available are meant for system failure to restore the entire server and those are not made to be extracting individual files from.
