Hi! I'm new to this site, and I was wondering were I type in html/css codes for my website. Or any code for that matter! Could anyone please help me? Thanks!

The easiest way is to create your html page on your computer (using a simple texteditor) and then upload them to your public_html folder. (through ftp or cPanels file manager)

Another way to do is it using the file manager in your cPanel, there's an icon called "new file" to the left that allows you to create a file that will be put in the active folder. For it to be displayed that must be public_html in this case also

note that for the page to display without putting in a specific filename it must be named index.html (index.htm should also work)

So there is no way for me to just type it in directly to the site?

The file manager in cPanel is the closest thing to that as far as I know for this host. In my opinion it is much better to have it this way, you get a lot more freedom and control over how your site is structured.

Most hosts have it this way. There are sites that offer such service as you ask of though, right now I can't really remember any of them, but I did use them a good while back, before I got into php. I think that msn possibly have that, but i'm not sure.

The downside to that option is the rather long, hard to remember urls some give, usually of this type: user.sitename.com/your_user_name/ some rather long with a few folders in the address.

Well, you could possibly make it work in that way, by installing some nice php script (cms script) but I never tried any of that

Thank you! I have never had a website before, so this is very helpful! I was a little confused at the beginning only because the resource I went to before this mentioned typing the code directly into the site. Thanks again!
