Best editor: Dreamweaver because it's good interface and easy to use
Worst editor: Dreamweaver because not compatible with .shtml and when removing ftp connections it removes all files on the site by the way. (It deleted my .htaccess file and 2 folders before I could stop it after pressing "remove connection")

Best: Jedit. So cool, so free.
Worst: The one that comes with Layered Panel - I couldn't even see the whole page when I used that!

I do all my programming in Ultraedit. Unfortunately it isn't free, but IMHO worth every penny.
Notepad++ is a great freeware editor, I use at home.
Windows Notepad is not even good enough to edit a .bat or .ini file.

My favorite editor by far is plain old text edit, simple, free, and easy to use, and no extra configurations needed.
The one I hate is the Geocities html editor. Ugh

Notepad++ v4.5 is one of the best I ever use, moreover it is free and good to use. it supports many formats and more.... highlighted syntax which allows viewer to easy view it plus more when you create a function or script, u can keep them neatly in their function tabs which will create a + and - if you need to view at that function.

Very pleasant for the eyes. great choice free editior that is so powerful that it is the first choice on my list whenever I need to edit script

I used to use Dreamweaver when I was messing about years ago working forsome rubbish company, not I use a combination of notepad and firefox to review the changes (and mistakes LOL) which is way better and faster.

I like Photoshop for graphics and have never found anything better.

I'm not gonna lie, if you have never used pspad you should try it. Its absolutely amazing. Fast and effiecient yet TONS of important extras you might not think about and somehow its not bloated! MD5 calculators and lots of other things coders love to have, yet this doesnt run slow and i supports color syntax for almost any language you can think of. I recommend it to anyone lookin for somethin new to try.

For graphics, there is no way better than the Gimp. Sure, photoshop is nicer and i like to use it better, but it carries a hefty price tag. The worst is MS office, sadly enough i have seen ad's saying that office has image editing functionality, yeah right.

For Web: Dreamweaver is by far the best, again, the price holds me away from using it. Also it does not work on Linux. I am running "Bluefish Editor" on Ubuntu right now and it works pretty well, but nothing like DW.

Best editor: Dreamweaver as there's nothing better then it, it has a great interface and it can do almost everything any other editor can do and more...

2nd best editor: BBedit - it's only for Mac and it's only a code editor but it's amazing when you're editing codes and stuff with it. It has different keys and colours which make things easy to understand and it can understand almost every single code that there is; it can automatically detect weather a code is written in PHP, HTML and 100's of more!

Worst editor: Notepad as it has no features at all, it's not even made for web design it can just do things within HTML and you can't do anything with it whatsoever, it's completely and utterly useless!
