I love the download manager built into the opera browser. Seems to just get the job done. Plus its nice and integrated into the brower.

MetaProducts Download Express.
You can set unlimited numbers of connections to web servers simultaneously (not recommended....) and the free version works pretty damn good :)

I use a program called Getright Pro. I LOVE that thing. It lets me segment the downloads to have separate connections for one file, pause, resume (of course), torrent capabilities, upload options, automatic mode (complete customization of how it downloads when you're not around), and really maximizes the speed. Firefox's download manager and IE usually let me download files at 400 KB/s. Getright lets me download at 700 normally, 800 with four segments, and over 1 MB/s when I'm downloading many segmented files at once (this option kicks everyone in my family off the internet until I tell it to stop xDD It steals everyone's bandwidth). There is a free version, but it has the option "register" and an annoying spash screen you can't get rid of unless you have it registered...so I registered it. It works great, never have problems ^_^ I recommend!!!

I am using Download Accelarator. I used to like it earlier but now a days I am seeing odd behavior therefore I think it is time for me to move on.

May be will try the option provided above.

FDM has been loyal to me ever since I installed years ago. FlashGot can get annoying.

I use FlashGet and IDM but I would prefer IDM I have the full version and its quite fast If you can't buy then there is no best choice then FlashGet.

I use FDM. It works, integrates well, doesn't spam me with "please upgrade" messages, the list goes on...

I use star downloader becuase of it's simplicity and also has many features. The free version does not show you any register me or buy me screens (except in the beginning, it runs only once).

uhh, I don't know any of them. I'm using Net Transport and it's ok. If a download manager can do a resume job, that's fine with me. downloading is fast too.

I currently use DAP, and I find it slow and memory hogging. I might switch over to FDM because lots of people seem to like it.

i use the one that comes with FireFox, its simple to use and you can have it pop up in a new window, or not show at all, it also notifies you when the file is complete. you can even add-on to it to make it better, i found addons for it.
