I'm a firm believer (and practitioner) of the RYO (Roll Your Own) model of web development. Most pre-built script packages tend to have severe holes in code, which are usually widely documented within hours of discovery, and others are private. If you actually ran through the source code of such packages, you'd realize the security risk they pose. For your safety (and for others, as this is a shared hosting environment, if you get rooted, we all get rooted), I'd suggest writing your own. Not only is it secure (unless you publish your source code, and it gets popular, and documented), it's also quite rewarding. Furthermore, if you have any questions as to the process of writing your own, I'm sure not only myself, but the other users here, could help you out. In fact, it sounds like quite a good subject for a tutorial (notes that to self). Well, whichever way you go, my purpose was merely to educate, not criticize.
