Which is best free forum software? PHPBB3,SMF,AEF,XMB,Mybb

The last forum I used was phpbb3. I didn't try any other because there was no need for any other, but I must agree that adding stuff to phpbb3 and upgrading was a pain in the a**.

After reading some suggestions form other users i tried using MyBB.I looks really good. Its overall rates to an average.Also went through some MyBB hosted websites . The most effective thing i found is its simplicity.Seems really good.New user can try that too.!!

I have used most of them, and I have to go with PHPBB3. Although I haven't really used other softwares as much as PHP...
