What size of shout box you want?

Around 120px wide and 300 tall.

300 tall seems a bit too much... maybe 150 x 240, which is close to a golden ratio; it'll leave some room for vertical scroll bars as well Here's what I drew up in like 5 minutes so you maybe have an idea on size & spacing:

everything but i prefer the guestbook rather than the shoutbox because chatbox do affect pay-per click ads on ur website.
