Hi,

I was wondering what size canvas you people use for creating either entire websites and slice it, or the sizes for buttions, banners and logo's etcetera.

Also any tips on creating good buttons as mine never look any good - probably the fact I dion't do much in the way of colours!

thanks

I would suggest a 800x600 canvas size for making sites then slice it so it will stretch out to fix the screen size. Read tutorials on sites like http://pixel2life.com and http://goodtutorials.com. You can also read the tutorials and if you find a good one search the rest of the site the tutorial originated from. Really web design is a lot of trial and error and eventually you will get what you want.

Oh and always remember the golden rule, simplicity is key. Any chance you get try to avoid using images. Especially in the backgrounds of tables, try to use a color code background.

For a "square site" use 800x600 but if you are designing a corporate site (Fun site, hosting, clan etc) use 900-1000x1100+

I would have to agree with kryptonyte here, always work with 800x600, as not only will it stretch on to fit other screens, you have to remember some (not all!!) are still using that sort of screen resolution!

I made a website that doesn't break or display horizontal rule even if you resize your browser at a width of.. 430px approximately.
Slices, canvas, and all that stuff is not really worth it.
=> CSS power my friends ;D
