That's
Sir Tim Berners-Lee to you!
Well done - you are correct. Perhaps I should have only accepted that last guess of Alan Sugar - then I could have said you are WRONG!
Below are some clarifications on my earlier clues ;
Who Am I?
Born in London, I have been placed at the top of a newspaper's list of the greatest geniuses alive today. (No Googling for answers now!)
- 2007, The Telegraph, placed him at joint no.1.
Also:
I invented something pretty important.....When?.....Within living memory
- 1989, The WORLD WIDE WEB!!!!!
I did it while working for nuclear researchers.
- CERN.
I've won numerous awards, & one country even awarded me 1 million ($ or £ or Euros or something else - I'm not saying) in recognition of my invention.
- 2004, recipient of Finland's 1st Millennium Technology Prize (1 million Euros).
I've just been made an advisor to the British Government (about time, too!)
- Adviser on information delivery.
If it wasn't for this invention, we wouldn't be here now!
The "nuclear researchers" mentioned above were in the headlines during the past year for their recent work. People were worried that their work might destroy planet Earth! - The Large Hadron Collider.
However, my invention may or may not have anything to do with this. - It didn't!
Well done lemon-tree, your turn.
