Man, why you gotta bring race into it?

Just kidding, in a way. I'm past fifty, and I've kinda outgrown the noise, but it was always pretty niche. And it doesn't help that there was a lot of "White Power" undercurrent in the genre for a while (don't know if it's still there, but it was thick enough to turn me off the scene altogether back in the day). I wouldn't look for a whole lot of fans in any one place -- but you've got the whole world to sell to.

I'm not really in that 'race' thing. I do know people in skinhead gang tho (business is business..I'm doing underground music distribution) .. But they aren't in BM. I know there are some National Socialist Black Metal going, but not as thick as what you're talking about. Well, I'm in Quebec .. there had never had much NS going around from what I know. I don't really care either, every one as it point of view. I'm a kind of pro-war, that's what make a 'natural regulation' of our population. It seems that other species cannot regulate us, so we have to or we will be over populated. It already begin, I think . Racism is just an excuse to make war, as is religious wars. Well, that's only my opinion. Sorry for my bad english (if any?), I'm from Quebec, french canadian.

And I'm a tête carré from next door, sort of -- my mother's people were Northern Ontario sawmill French (with, as one might expect up north, the odd Indian in the mix). You're right, this is a different part of the world -- usually -- but there have been times when the morons have been thick on the ground. Mostly older folks and their fantasy of pur laine (remember Parizeau and «l'argent puis des votes ethniques»?).

How does that relate? Well, the NS idiots may have helped people tar the whole genre with the same brush. The same thing happened for a while to ska (thanks, skins) -- and it certainly wasn't that those Jamaican skiffle players were spouting a lot of racism. All it takes is for a bunch of really stupid people to become identified with a scene, and it takes a lot of work and a lot of good music to get over the image they've created. I may not be into BM, but I wish you a lot of luck.
