If for some reason one might have an issue against Vista so much as to prefer Xp, then please enlighten me.

I have been using Vista Ultimate ever since it was available. I am using ESET smart security and periodically download patches/updates for vista.

I havent had one single problem exploiting the system. Though the GUI is a definate clone in some ways of the *ix based systems, it is however well done and is enjoyable to work with. The user control and security of the vista release is better than in xp.

The indexing, though costly to system resources, has greatly improved the OS and made alot of tasks alot easier.

I am for Vista without a doubt.

Vista on desktop, but there's no driver for laptop graphics chipset so XP on there. I have never had Vista crash, games run perfectly on maximum graphics settings, and everything 'just works'. But, I built this PC with Vista in mind, so it really shouldn't have any problems running it!

I stick with what I have (XP) until I'm forced to upgrade or switch. I had 3.1 for a long time after '95 came out, and I switched because the newer programs didn't run on 3.1. I'm always a few years behind. It also gives Microsoft a chance to fix some bugs that are usually associated with a new release. My wife has Vista. It's okay, but nothing special for me, except the DVD Movie Maker. Even then, it thinks .avi is a sound file.

I definetly prefer xp. It has the same basic look as the previous ones and just has a very good looking and easy to use interface.

Ive tried Vista on one of my firend's computer and I couldnt tell where anything was because it was SO different.

I have also tried the mac but I never liked it, I prefer the taskbar over the doc :thefinger

You have to try new things when it comes. Taking it or not is secondary. I have already said that vista is just the beginning of a new revolution of with much interactive feature. They will be improve..................

It came preinstalled on my laptop; I don't believe sluggish software is a new revolution (maybe for Microsoft). I don't care how interactive it is, performance is what matters. Reformatted it to XP SP2, and now all my machines are waiting for SP3. Vista has no chance of improving whatsoever, unless you have a godly machine (and even then XP would work better on it!)
