Wodpress update to 3.0.1 hangs (& plugin)

Wordpress 3.0 was installed from Fantastico, but the newest version is 3.0.1. When choosing to upgrade, the process stalls at the point below:





Update WordPress

Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.0.1.zip…
Unpacking the update…

When you got the Dashaboard > Update page. Click Download 3.0.1. This will download the full zip file.

Then through cpanel file manager or FTP, upload all contents of the ZIP file. Replace existing files.

Then when you visit your site dashboard, you will be asked to perform a database update. This can be completed in one click.
