Wordfence (a security plugin for WordPress) has emailed over 200 times last night:
A user with IP address (ip address varies) has been locked out from the signing in or using the password recovery form for the following reason: Used an invalid username 'admin' to try to sign in.
My little website has been hammered! The resource monitor shows some crazy graphs. I wish those resources were from genuine of visitors
I've set Password Protection on the WP-Admin Directory from cPannel and will monitor what happens next. Last time I did that, I wasn't able to preform any WP updates, so I need to remember to remove that protection when WP has another round of updates.
Update - Even before I finished this thread, another email came in :O
