So, quite recently I get this error whenever I upload files to the media library via Wordpress.

What I've tried so far:
1. Uploading directly via ftp
--keeps getting 'unknown bytes uploaded' and the uploaded .jpeg shows an error.
2. Deleting several existing image files, before uploading. (throws the same error)

I'm not sure what's wrong?

(Though from what I've looked up, it may be an error arising from the /tmp folder being full. In that case, how long does it usually take for a resolution?)

Thank you in advance.

how much un-used disk space do you have ?
how many inodes have you used ?

you can use the [ cPanel-x3 ] theme to get that information
you might need to open ( click on ) [ Stats ]

Thank you for pointing me to cpanel :) Didn't know you could check disk space there.
Yes, it appears I've exceeded the 512mb disk space limit.
