Wordpress install is not working

Hello! This free hosting service is great and fast (unlike my previous host).

However, I've run into a problem. My Wordpress blog won't install - complaining about an Internal Server Error.
Can you please help?

It's not permissions, so I'd look at the .htaccess file; I'm not familar with .htaccess at all but I did check the files on the server and they -are- set properly, so it's not that...

Hello. Sorry for the late reply. It's now 6:30AM in my country

The folder I am installing Wordpress in does not have a .htaccess file. Is this a cause for concern?

Thanks for your assistance to-date, Livewire. Coming from a IIS/Windows Server side, this is not familiar to me

Is there anything else I should check?

Actually I just noticed the .htaccess was fine; the redirect -was- working and I'm not sure I actually checked what permissions the wordpress files were on. The folder you -did- have it installed to isn't on there anymore though.

I'd try reinstalling it in the same folder; make sure the files are permissions 644, and folders 755 - if anything's 777 it'll cause problems since that's actually a security loophole.

Tried installing in the same folder - no go.

I then installed it to a different folder, and volia! It worked! Sometimes technology is so unpredictable - and to come to think of that, we have trains being driven by computers!
