World of Warcraft Hits 4 Million Subscribers

Blizzard Entertainment announced today that World of Warcraft, its subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), has reached more than four million paying customers worldwide, with more than one million of those being in North America alone. This subscriber base makes Word of Warcraft the largest subscription-based MMOG. For comparison purposes, Xbox Live has a two million subscriber base.

Are massively multiplayer online games the way of the future? If that's the case, Microsoft has nothing to worry about as major massively multiplayer online games such as Huxley, All Points Bulletin and MARVEL's first MMOG among others, are coming to the Xbox 360.

Blizzard should make this game available for 360. Damn.
