You have to go get the domain name first then you can use it here.

Yeah, what you'll want to do is just sign up with an x10 subdomain, then request to have the domain changed to the domain you purchased, just first be sure to have the domain pointed to the DNS servers.

Actually you just have to point the nameservers to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com, then go into cpanel and add it to the parked domains. It will take up to 72 hours to propagate.
