I have to give a vote to Yahoo if you are talking about email. In fact, oddly enough, I just switched over to their updated beta version today. How strange. Or coincidental anyways. I do not use any chat clients, so I have no opinion either way. For search, I only use Google. I cannot remember the last time I visit MSN.

Yahoo is the one i prefer because yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ: YHOO) is an American public corporation and global Internet services company. It provides a range of products and services including a web portal, a search engine, the Yahoo! Directory, Yahoo! Mail, news, and posting. It was founded by Stanford University graduate students Jerry Yang and David Filo in January of 1994 and incorporated on March 2, 1995. The company is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California.

According to Web traffic analysis companies (including Comscore, Alexa Internet and Netcraft), Yahoo! has been one of the most visited websites on the Internet[3], [4], with more than 412 million unique users.[citation needed] The global network of Yahoo! websites received 3.4 billion page views per day on average as of October 2005, making it one of the most visited U.S. websites.

Also msn MSN (an abbreviation of Microsoft Network) is a collection of Internet services provided by Microsoft. Initially released on August 24, 1995, to coincide with the release of Windows 95. The range of services provided has changed significantly since its release. The Hotmail webmail service was amongst the first (as of May 7, 2007 it is being replaced by Windows Live Hotmail), followed by the instant messenger service MSN Messenger, which has been replaced by Windows Live Messenger. According to Alexa.com, MSN.com is currently ranked 2nd amongst all websites for Traffic Rank.

In large part, MSN was rebranded in 2005 to Windows Live, which saw the release of Windows Live Hotmail (previously Windows Live Mail) and Windows Live Messenger. Microsoft overhauled its online software and services in a climate of increasing competition from rivals such as Google, and Yahoo!. The Windows Live brand is currently being rolled out service-by-service, with rebranded services being classed as Beta tests initially. It is anticipated that the MSN service will aim at the personal and family user, whilst Windows Live will be a dedicated search facility for various media.

In the United States and Canada, MSN is not only a content provider and search engine, it is additionally an Internet Service Provider. With around 9 million subscribers, MSN is the second largest Internet Service Provider in the United States behind AOL service with about 26.5 million. In other countries, MSN uses underwriters for their services; in the UK, Microsoft use BT group.

The term "MSN" has come to be synonymous with MSN Messenger in Internet slang. To use MSN services, users must have a Windows Live ID account, an account system which allows access to all of the MSN facilities. One can sign-up using any e-mail address, and can then use personalized MSN and Windows Live features requiring the use of a Windows Live ID. These personalized features include My MSN, MSN Hotmail (now Windows Live Hotmail) and the ability to sign into Windows Live Messenger, and the now retired (as from Windows Vista) Windows Messenger. As of 2007, MSN has more than 225 million users.

I think Yahoo! is better since I have been using it for a long time. If I were to search something specific, I will go with Google.

I have used both MSN and Yahoo in my time so I think I have the experience to give a balanced view.

Yahoo does let you do what it's designed to do but it does lack those extras that make an Instant Messaging Client, an Instant Messaging Client. Yahoo lets you talk, add friends and access your e-mails directly.

MSN however lets you do what I have said above with Yahoo but it also gives you the added option of using other features that MSN provide. MSN allows you to play games from its Gaming area and allows you to search from your IM Client without having to access MSN Search. Every part of MSN can be accessed from each part.

Overall I think Yahoo is a developing Client but not at the same rate as MSN. MSN is developing and giving more options than ever. Yahoo seems to be ripping some of MSNs features also. MSN Live with introduced and then not long after a Yahoo Live version was introduced. In my opinion to make Yahoo a decent IM Client they need to start thinking of their own features and implement them before MSN implement them and thus taking most of the Consumers.

I tend to use both. I first began liking Yahoo Messenger since I'm used to everything being on one line, but then I found Trillian. Since then, I discovered that Trillian is missing a lot of features that MSN Messenger has, so I now use Trillian for Yahoo and AIM and I use MSN alone. I also use MSN just for the scripts.
In other words, I'm a bit half-and-half.

As most, MSN. Hate the yahoo interface. When I logged into my yahoo mail one day I was sitting with a least 2000+ junk mail over a week. From that day forth I left yahoo to its own divices and moved back to hotmail.

o_O I just voted and I didn't know what I'm voting for. Is this for which COMPANY we like, which MESSENGER we like, which PAGE we like, or which EMAIL we like? o_O

I voted for Yahoo, assuming it was email. I like MSN/Microsoft company, MSN messenger, Yahoo's page, and Yahoo's email.
