I think some of the confusion is that there is a feature in cPanel for setting up remote MySql access for particular outside host addresses, possibly leading one to believe that such a capability was available.

It makes sense why it is not, as far as putting a drag on the system.

As like with others there is no complaints from me on this as I am grateful for what all x10hosting provides for free.

Ideally this should maybe get moved to Feedback/Suggestions, because I also believe you're right - the real question is whether that particular section in cPanel can be removed/locked/blocked without removing mysql abilities completely.

My guess is no, or it'dve probably been done by now.
